How Long Does a Car Rental Deposit Refund Take in Dubai?
There is no single useful answer without first identifying the stage. Vehicle return, merchant action and bank processing are separate events, and the evidence for each is different.
The possible sequence
- Vehicle returned: record the date, condition and handover evidence.
- Merchant processing: the rental company reviews the rental and any stated charges.
- Release or refund initiated: ask for the action date and available reference.
- Bank or card processing: the financial institution processes the released hold or refund.
- Funds available: confirm the final amount and whether it matches the expected deposit.
Why cases take different paths
A card hold may be released rather than refunded. A completed charge generally needs a refund transaction. A merchant can say it completed its step while bank processing is still underway. Use the original and current transaction entries to distinguish these situations.
Use the promise you actually received
If the company gave a specific date, preserve it and note whether it has passed. If no date was given, check the agreement and ask for the expected date in writing. This guide does not invent a statutory deadline or replace the terms and facts of your case.
